  1. J. Manka Said,

I bought for my mother for Christmas. Was glad I purchased extra Herb seeds because the herb garden I bought came with flowers.

But my mom absolutely loves it and if having fun. herbs sprouted in no time.

And the light on it serves them as a night light. Very quiet operation.

  2. Chris Said,

This is my first AeroGarden and I am really happy with it. I live in northern Minnesota and it was well below zero when my Aerogarden arrived. I let the package get to room temperature before I put the garden together and “planted” the pods. Setup was a breeze. Within a couple of days the Thyme and Basil both sprouted. I was afraid the chives might be a dud but they have now sprouted as well. All three are extremely vigorous and I cannot wait to begin harvesting them! I will definately buy another one or two of these but may move up to the bigger size just to increase the harvest. I definately recommend this product especially for those of us that go through long cold dark winters! Spring in January in Minnesota is always nice!

  3. Nicholas Kaczmar Said,

This is perfect for the novice grower who would like year round fresh herbs and vegetables in their home. But I was very disapointed when I opened the package and discovered how cheaply made these were. There really is nothing “Aero” about it- aeroponics is when you spray the root system with a fine mist of nutrient solution. This is just a fancy expensive bucket with an aquarium air stone on the bottom. You could easily make one of these yourself very cheaply from a large tupperware container, airstone, compact flourescent bulb, and a timer… In fact you could probably grow a wider variety of herbs and vegetables with that set up- this one is limited to only a 17hr light period so don’t expect to be able to grow vegetables that require two separate photoperiods. But as a gift to someone less experienced with hydroponics, it is quite nice to watch your little herbs grow out of the pods… But for someone who is looking for something a bit more versatile, spend a little more on a better model or make your own (there are tons of plans on the internet)

This is an additional one we are ordering. We have been using one for a year and it is great for herbs and edible flowers. We highly recommend it.

  5. Pamalee Said,

I got a 3 pod aerogarden 3 months ago and last night we had to unplug it because it was humming so loudly that we couldn’t sleep. It was 2 rooms away and very loud. Today, I took the bottom of it off and found that the problem is that the plastic motor vibrates on the plastic housing. I have cushioned it somewhat with a fireproof product and it is somewhat improved. I’ve enjoyed the basil, the chives barely grew and the thyme is growing fairly well. I would not purchase one for a gift for anyone and will not replace this one when it goes or if it rattles so loudly that I throw it in the trash.AeroGrow AeroGarden 3 with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit, Black
