Erie County designated agriculture disaster areas
Erie County has been designated a federal agriculture disaster area because of damage and losses caused by the heavy snow Dec. 10-12, James Barber, state executive director for the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency in New York, announced.

Bridgeton’s Fisher likely to remain as Agriculture secretary
Doug Fisher, the current secretary of the Department of Agriculture and former state Assemblyman, apparently will keep his job. As Gov. Chris Christie assembles his cabinet, Fisher is the only member who could not be removed or reappointed by the governor alone.
