Agricultural subsidies, that is?
“An agricultural subsidy is a governmental subsidy paid to farmers and agribusinesses to supplement their income, manage the supply of agricultural commodities, and influence the cost and supply of such commodities.
The U.S. Agricultural Department is required by law to subsidize over two dozen commodities. Farm subsidies have the direct effect of transferring income from the general tax payers to farm owners.”

Obama Why So Socialist, where in my question did I say that all Conservatives were farmers, and directly benefiting from said subsidies? I believe you answered a question of mine yesterday, and thought agricultural subsidies were the same as welfare…
Bethy, I would consider looking into which farms receive the subsidies. Most are corporate farms.
Also, I’m not exactly sure why some of you are attacking me, as I never said anywhere in my question what my thoughts on the matter were. In fact, all I did was tell you what these subsidies were and asked why conservatives weren’t avidly fighting them?

If they lose the rural parts of the country, they’re finished. It’s the sort of welfare that they love to support, while they bash other forms of welfare.

Why aren’t you my dear?
Is everything a conservative/liberal fight for people like yourself? Or do you bother to ask yourself why you are willing to give up everything you have–including your freedoms to be what you perceive as correct in an argument?
Answer that, and we’ll come back to this dear. Every piece of legislation that has come down from many administrations have affected you too. You are not immune to the destruction coming our way. Is that really worth your argument? Ask yourself if YOU are for it, if not, your question is worthless.

Im not for it but hey whats better give a subsidy to a non working family leaving in government housing for nothing
or giving money to working farms so that they might continue to put food on the tables of those non working families

Conservatives support that actually because it keeps American farmers working rather than having produce grown overseas.
I think you meant Libertarians. They are the ones against subsidies

They don’t fight it because the subsidies go primarily to the corporate farmers. Once again it’s a case of “conservatives” preferring a two tier economic system, Socialism for the rich and Capitalism for the poor.

Not a conservative…
But I think it’s cuase conservatives saw how liberals fough big businesses and imposed high taxes, strict regulations, and encouraged unions caused such businesses to leave and operate in China… Now conservatives are being a little “consevative” and do not want to run the farmers out too.

It’s a matter of priorities: 52% of the CURRENT us budget goes to welfare, Medicare, SSI, and other such bottomless pits of losers. Obviously, that’s the biggest problem.

Don’t get your panties in a bunch but I doubt that anyone who asks a question such as this about ” Conservaties ” ( sic ) has any real knowledge as to what true Conservatives actually do or do not fight or support.

My intellectual guess is that fighting it would interfere with agribusiness, but that’s just my opinion…
