3) Pepperidge Farm Light Style Grain Bread has 140 calories in a 3 slice serving.This is 15% less than the number of calories in a serving of regular bread.How many calories are in a serving of regular bread?

1) (40,000-16,000)*100/16,000 corresponds to a percent increase of 150%
2) 9500*.78 corresponds to 7410 brochures being opened and read
3) 140/(1-.85)=164.706 so the regular serving of bread will have 164.706 calories. Doing a check on this confirms this.
164.7-(164.7*.15) = 140

3. 140 calories in 3 slice serving so
it will be 46.67 calories in 1 slice of serving
Regular bread has then 46.67 x 1.15 = 53.67 calories
or 161 calories for 3 slice serving

1. percentage increase = (40000-16000)*100/16000
= 150%
2. 78% * 9500 = (78/100) * 9500= 7410
3. 140 calories in 3 slice serving so by unitary law
1 slice of serving gives 46.67 calories
Regular bread has 46.67 *1.15 = 53.67 calories
or 161 calories for 3 slice serving

Sorry, guys. 140 is not 15% less than 161. 15% of 161 is more than 24, so 15% less than 161 is less than 137. The calculation you need is
140 / .85 = 164.7058824

1.5*100%=150% increase in triathletes.

78%=0.78
0.78*9500=7410 will be opened & read.

15% less means that 100%-15%=85% or 0.85 is left so
140=0.85x
x=140/0.85=165 cal in a regular serving.
