Question by JJ: Did Shirley Sherrod decline the job offers just so she could sue?
Several legal analyst had said that if she had accepted a job in the agriculture department then that would weaken her lawsuit case because she would actually be getting a promotion from her original job.
During the press conference she said that she would like to work in the agriculture department again BUT not now. She didn’t really give a reason for the delay of her return to the department except that she “wanted to think things out.” It’s obvious she did this solely to sue the blogger who posted the video.
The crazy thing is if she really wanted to sue somebody then she should sue CNN because they were the first to report the story and interpret the meaning of the video.
Contrary to popular belief Fox News did not report the story until after she had been fired even though she ridiculed Fox News from start to finish of that NAACP speech.

I think that could be possible, but I don’t really think it is the case in this situation.

A lawsuit is a pain. She seems so nice. I really don’t know as I don’t know her. She said she doesn’t want to test the theory or statement that it wouldn’t happen again. So, the firing left a bad taste in her mouth, and she can sit on corporation Boards or get another job far away. Maybe that is it.
