The first time I tried to use this tool with any force, it snapped in half. I’ll be returning it for a refund and applying the credit to a solid steel tang hori-hori, like I should have gotten in the first place.

  2. Kath Said,

I like to garden I usually like Fiskars equipment This one is a BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. While digging weeds the handle bent. Under the rubber handle is a thin piece of steel that looks like a wire it maybe has a 1/8 inch diameter. The handle is very cheaply reinforced. Not a full piece of steel of a heavy cylinder welded to the hilt. Just a cheap piece of steel that is way toooooo thin No heft to it. Save your money if you are buying this for weeding or digging.

On the second pass into the ground to remove a weed the kinfe broke apart at the spot weld which was three tiny welds made to hold the knife blade to the handle. Very poor construction. Only Fiskars tool I’ve ever had that failed on initial use.Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079

  4. Thomas M. Migliore Said,

I purchased the Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife through Amazon. It broke the first time I used it. The blade is welded to the handle and the weld broke. The tool was useless after 30 seconds of work. Apparently, it is not a very well made tool. I normally like Fiskars products but this one need a little more design work. I like this type of tool for weeding and garden use and there are several on the market which are better made.

  5. Loren Said,

I love the feel of my Fiskars’ garden knife. But after only a little while of use, the handle came loose from the blade. I wrote Fiskars’ customer service, and they responded promptly with a new product. I use it all the time. I’d change the stars to 5 if they’d let me.
