  1. R. MacDonald Said,

It seems like there are a gazillion algaecides on the market and I think we’ve probably tried them all in our two fountains, but this product, which was recommended by a place that sells fountains, has come closest to keeping our fountains ‘clean.’ I put the word ‘clean’ in quotes only because I don’t think there is ANY product that renders any water feature (fountain, spa, etc.) 100% algae-free — algae just goes with the territory. But this product seems to do the best job at keeping the algae at bay, and it’s harmless to birds and other animals (your plants might not like it, though, if placed too close to the splash from a fountain). We’ve been using it for more than 5 years and are very happy with it.

After so many online reviews about this working so well, I bought the largest size for our 2 new fountains. One is a 48 inch tall wall fountain, the other a large 3 tier fountain with a 55 inch pond base. We live in North San Diego and both fountains are concrete. We had algae growth and SEVERE growth in our 3 tier fountain within 5 days of using this product. This fountain spends all day in direct sunlight but no matter how much we increase dosage, the problem is NOT resolved using this chemical. I can only imagine how bad my problems will be come summer. Too bad as we really want to have a pet & bird friendly addition to our back yard. Back to Bromine and elbow grease I guess…..

We have a 300 gallon outdoor fountain i full sun that we have tried multiple products on to keep it clear. This is the only one that works. I put it in weekly, doesn’t take much, and the water stays crystal clear.

Works surprisingly well. A cap full in a small fountain clears up the water in a day and keeps it clean well over 2 weeks and has no color tint.

  5. Jeannine D Said,

I have a waterfall in my backyard in hot, humid, Houston,TX. During the summer months, all 5 of them, the tempuratures climbs into the 90′s. I was using a product recommended by the person who installed the waterfall that costs twice what this product costs. Once every 3 weeks, I found myself cleaning green algae that had grown on the rocks. With this product, the algae growth is down to a minimum and I need to clean less alge every 3 months rather than every 3 weeks. I’m a satisfied customer.
