how can i find out if theres a new hott commodity in the market? how can i research it and see if i want to buy stocks? im new at this.
let say… theres a nw company out there that no one really knows about but it has huge potential to be big. where can i get find out about that those kinds of companies. im not sure if that was a good example or not.

huh ? what new commodity are you speaking of ? Gold ? diamonds? paladium? oil ?

You can spot new growth companies the same way the pros do. Use a stock screener, available at Yahoo Finance or Morningstar.
You can set ranges for earnings growth, return on equity, etc. Look for small and micap companies that are scoring high. Then start researching the company. If you call or e-mail the company, they’ll send you a prospectus and ask for five years worth of financial statements. They’ll send it for free.
Then you get to pile through all the corporate financial reports looking for strengths and hidden weaknesses. Repeat numerous times to find one or two that are worth putting your money in.
