I have a professional quality heat mat from a grow store, this was a back up. Its smaller, does not quite fit a seedling tray, and is cooler than the pro mat. It is working, seedlings are up, but for more starts I bought another one from the grow store. so this is an ok buy, the pro ones are bigger for the same price.

I actually bought mine from a garden store in Seattle. I thought it might be a gimmicky product. I asked the woman, should I get this? She kinda shrugged and just told me to keep my receipt just in case.
Well, I am happy to say that I planted last Sunday and 4 days later, I already have cucumber starts that are 3 – 4 inches tall. The tomatoes are already starting to sprout, as are the basil. Only after I bought this did I see a time to germination chart for various plants based on various temperatures, and not it makes total sense why I am getting such good results. Very basic product, but very good.

This mat helped me regain lost time as i failed to start my spring garden seedlings in time for my normal first of June planting. By using the mat i recovered my two week delay and the plants were as healthy and large in a months time than the six+ weeks they would normally take. Very satisfied.

How great it is to be able to look out the window at three feet of snow on the ground and see seeds beginning to show growth. How could I do with without a heating Mat. It makes the long winter bearable. The product lives up to it’s claims.
