Question by Shae: Is this an okay essay for a little fair contest?
What my fair means to my community

What does the word ‘Fair’ mean? This word means a periodic exhibition of farm products, livestock, and entertainment. Although this definition is correct, there is also a second definition; free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice, this is one of the many things our community fair provides to me and my community. The Mason Dixon Fair provides the community with an opportunity to come together as a whole, experience the agriculture within our area, and appreciate local residents for their hard work.
When I am attending the Mason Dixon Fair, my mind is not worried with crime, injustice, bias, dishonesty, or any other societal conflicts. My mind is focused on the people around me, the beauty of how our community can pull together as one, forgetting envy, diminishing prejudice, forgiving an adversary, if only for a night. This fair is a chance to relieve stress and fatigue and provide people of our community a night of fun and relaxation.
The Mason Dixon Fair is a great chance for people of all ages to see and learn about our community’s very special and important agricultural industry. Although this cultivation is practically in our backyards there is many of us who are not aware of the work that is behind all this agriculture. In experiencing livestock and resources of our area, members of our community may better appreciate and understand our area’s local cultivation.
As many people know, there are many organizations, bands, crafters, gardeners, and farmers that work very hard all year round to perfect their events, entertainment, and products, for the people in their community. I believe that our community fair is a wonderful place for these people to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to doing what they love. Not only do we observe and support the vendors and entertainers at our fair, we also get a chance to appreciate our local Fire department witch is comprised of many compassionate men and women who dedicate their time to keeping a safe, healthy community for all of us.
The Mason Dixon Fair has many things to offer to our community, it is a wonderful, rewarding tradition that should continue for years to come. Most of us don’t really stop and think about how much our fair has to offer, but at the times we do, we realize that what it offers is much more than what we ever would have thought.
