Question by apapagia: “Import & export contacts” button in MS OUTLOOK 2007 is deactivated. How can I retrieve my contacts?
I have just installed microsoft outlook 2007 in my pc. But the import export button in the file menu is grey (not active). How can I restore my contacts? I have taken backup by exporting them as pst files.

You have probably got a corrupt mail profile in Outlook.
Delete your mail profile, restart your computer and then start again by creating a new mail profile (go through control panel > Mail) and then open outlook and see what happens.

It’s been a long time since I installed Outlook…
But I have a vague memory that “Import/Export” was an optional feature, not installed by default.
Start “Setup” again (from the CD), and select “Custom Installation”. Take a close look at the optional features for Outlook. I’ll bet you’ll find something there.
