I have had this shovel for about 1 month. I guess it works ok , havent had a need for it yet. Light in weight, do not have to bend over to use. Hard to rate since i have not had to use it yet.

  2. Michael Said,

The bent handle definitely reduces back strain and lifting, but for heavy snow (though you dont often get it here in NC) I found this Sno Wovel (just a large wheel and lever – like lifting with a seasaw) that I have had for a few years is perfect…it still stores on the wall but way faster and is easy on my middle-aged back.

I purchased this snow shovel as a back-up to my Suncast SC3250 18-Inch shovel. I specifically got this for the ergonomic factor. We had a storm here in Cincinnati and there were none left in the stores! I’m about 6’2″ tall, so I still had to “hunch” over a little while shoveling, but not as a bad as before with a straight-handle design.

This shovel is a little heavy. You’ll get used to it quickly and with no problem though. I’ve had a chance to use it to deal with two HEAVY snows. I love it. It’s very well constructed. I’m sure I’ll be using it for many years to come. It is a great tool to deal with the large amounts of snow and frigid temperatures that global warming has brought us. LOL. Seriously though I’m very impressed and pleased with my Suncast SC5350 shovel. It’s well worth the price.

Well, I found out you cant buy a snow shovel from the major box stores in January. Seems they think its time to stock up for spring. Stupid. So I ordered two of these online after reading the reviews. The bent shaft design makes shovelling heavy wet snow much easier. Also, we had a 3 layer snowfall of snow – ice – snow before I shovelled off my deck. The shovel was able to cut through a lot of the ice, which I thought was very good. The shovel is hard plastic but the blade on it is very sharp aluminum I think. Good construction overall. I was happy the shipping charges were not too high for this, but I was out of options anyway unless I wanted to wait until next year!
