Question by Flower: What kind of spending specifically are Republicans advocating to cut?
What are they referring to when they say “spending”? Subsidies for oil, energy, agriculture? Congressional salaries? the Pentagon budget? What taxes will they lower? What tax credits will they offer?

  1. Bob K Said,

Well, now. . . that’s a good question. I think the obvious answer is that nobody knows. They didn’t do a very good job of reducing spending the last time they had a chance. Of course the other party makes Republican spending look like my son’s milk money in comparison. I think what is hoped is that they learned their lesson from the spanking they got in the last election and will cut back multiple programs across the board.

I know the previous respondent was being sarcastic but I have no problem with them cutting spending in all the above categories. The Federal Gvmt. has no business in dictating education policies. I want them to stay out of my health care and the only jobs they seem to train for are more government jobs which only increases the size of the gvmt. itself.

Well after the Juan Williams thing NPR is at the top of my list.
Then lets say payments to the UN.
    Followed by foreign aid money.
I think that would be a good start.

One thing for sure they won’t cut anything to do with the rich getting richer the only thing they will cut for the rich is their taxes. They will try to cut anything that helps the middle class and the poor

  5. bob Said,

The usual suspects. Education, Social Security. Medicaid…in short, anything that is of benefit to Americans and anything that doesn’t benefit their corporate sponsors…and with the obscene amount of money the Chamber of Commerce has contributed, is there any question that the Republican party is now a fully owned subsidiary of corporate America?

  6. Captain Jack Said,

High speed rail for one. Don’t let the Dem’s fool you. This does not benefit the average person. It only benefits wealthy engineers, highly skilled and highly paid construction specialists and the upper business classes and politicians that will be able to afford to use it, once it’s complete.

Money spent on more practical infrastructure such as roads, bridges and practical public transportation would be far more beneficial to the common man and cost far less.

  7. Becca the Tea Lady Said,

Maybe they will let us drill our own oil rather than all the wells going to Brazil where his buddy Soros get most of his money.
Obama is very faithful and he demands it back. Just like he was not going to endorse the Democrat in Rhode Island because his friend is running as an Independent who he endorses.
I hope the Republicans can find out where all this 3 TRILLION dollars he has spent went to. If we could get that back it would help immensely.
